TVBC Response to Parish Council pre app for Community Development Site

TVBCS’s response to Parish Council pre app for Community Development Site is now available to view on The Parish Council website under Community Housing Project:

Click Here to see the letter from TVBC

We would ask that all residents read the whole document to get a really clear understanding of the first conversation that the PC have had with TV.

A pre app is the very first and informal conversation that any organisation planning to build have with the planning department of their local council. It gives guidance and suggestions as to how the applicant might proceed. This will be followed by many more conversations, often over quite a long period, before the requirements of the planners are happy that an eventual full application will be likely to receive approval.  When approval is given there are always likely to be conditions that the applicant will have to comply with as a project moves forward.

A pre app is, as we’ve said, is an informal document and not one that is normally made public. However due to pressure from residents the PC decided that the pre app would be published, but it may well pose more questions than answers at this very early stage. We can only stress how important it is that this is seen as first exploratory discussions.

This has always been planned as an important Community Project and the PC will work hard to maintain that ethos.

Cllr Sue Larcombe

Chair, Chilbolton Parish Council Planning Committee
